Fractured now Complete

It’s a lie and it’s destroying to believe that the fractured pieces of our lives are unmendable.

Just as a glimpse of light renders a twinkle in shattered shards of glass, it just takes the light of Jesus to illuminate our precious and incomparable crystals of God’s workmanship.

The colours which are emitted from the glass join in a beautiful array - but it’s a matter of perspective - whilst that shimmer of colour may be overlooked by one, to another that glimpse of colour may foretell the prospect of beauty beyond brokenness, just in the same way that a glimpse of Jesus’ grace foretells the promise of hope beyond our shame.

Perfection is not a prerequisite for God’s abundant flow of grace and if that were the case, it would be true that the fractured pieces of our lives are unmendable. But it’s not. Christianity is not synonymous with flawlessness and without life’s cracks, shards and jagged edges we’d dismiss the need to mirror our Saviour and we’d reflect and furthermore project our prideful nature. Ultimately, we’d be bound to a false sense of security as self-made and self-sufficient beings.

Our flaws do not permit us to take joy in our sinful nature, because in Christ Jesus, we are no longer slaves to sin and we are called to be holy as God is holy - correct - but that is only possible through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Though we may feel broken, shattered and worthless in our current state, God takes our broken pieces us and shows us our worth by embellishing us with the light of His glory. In turn we are no longer self-perceived as dull fragments of rubble, instead we recognise that He takes every piece and moulds us together by the work of His hands. We soon find that we are intricately woven into purposeful beings for the work of His Kingdom and that whilst He completes us individually, He then pieces us together collectively to form the body of Christ.

It’s a lie and it’s destroying to believe that the fractured pieces of our lives are unmendable. Though once fractured, in Christ we are rendered complete.
